Description

Matrix with deep green malachite crystals and small transparent yellow fluorite crystals. Unusually for the locality, there are also some small fluorite crystals with a violet colouration. The Murton Mine is just across the valley from the famous Hilton Mine which is famous for its amaber yellow fluorite specimens. Strangley, despite being so close to the Hilton Mine, the Murton Mine has produced very few fluorite specimens. Murton Mine has produced
