Description

Gmelinite habit 7 Basalt matrix with amygdales containing very rare colourless transparent gmelinite-Na crystals displaying an attractive sceptre-like habit. This specimen was collected by the late Harry J, Foy who contributed hugely to the knowledge of Irish minerals. He collected from the mid 1960's until ill health forced him to stop in the late 1990's. The specimen will come with a pdf copy of an article on Harry first published in Earth Science Ireland magazine and reproduced with their permission.
