Description

Basalt matrix with amygdales lined with brown saponite and containing white hair-like clusters of rare erionite-K crystals from a classic Irish zeolite locality. This specimen was collected by the late Harry J, Foy who contributed hugely to the knowledge of Irish minerals. He collected from the mid 1960's until ill health forced him to stop in the late 1990's. The specimen will come with a pdf copy of an article on Harry first published in Earth Science Ireland magazine and reproduced with their permission.
