Description

Basalt matrix with lots of small amygdales filled with a very nice suite of zeolite minerals including orange and clear gmelinite crystals, transparent analcime crystals, some of which show a very nice caramel/ yellow colouration due to underlying aggregates of saponite material. The highlight of the specimen are a number of ultra thin, skeletal-like red gmelinite crystals set in an amygdale with transparent analcime crystals - a unique specimen from one of the gmelinite Co-Type Localities.
