Description

This is a nice specimen of the rare calcium aluminium hydroxylcarbonate mineral kochsandorite in association with boehmite from the Type and the only known locality.
It forms white acicular crystals and radiating aggregates in coal bearing marl matrix. Boehmite occurs as beige coloured massive nodules in matrix.
Kochsandorite was discovered in 2004. In 2005 the mine was closed, the dumps were recultivated, so no chance to find any new pieces.
