Description

A variety of fluorite, especially from Wölsendorf, Germany, that emits an odor of HF and ozone upon grinding due to the internal presence of free fluorine gas and colloidal calcium and the interaction of components with water upon grinding.

This is a good old time specimen of  very lustrous, deep violet to almost black fluorite crystals a from the famous fluorite deposit in Bavaria.
