Description

Ludlockite is one of the very rare and highly desirable species for which the famous Tsumeb Mine is the Type Locality.Clusters of bright, burnt orange ludlockite hairs are nicely scattered on the vuggy, germanium-rich ore.

In one of these vugs there is a group of gemmy leiteite microcrystals with good terminations. (Picture 2)

There are also tiny, pale yellow, tabular microcrystals which are probably philipsbornite (XRD analysed). (see Picture 3)
