Description

Excellent and very rich specimen of theisite where we can observe several globular clusters formed by lamellar crystals with an intense blue-green color contrasting with the azurite. Black crusts are asbolane. This mineral species from this mine is the second location in Spain.

This is a rare arsenate-antimonate of copper and zinc has been described in this mine in the Pyrenees.
It is one of the most interesting species of the site, given its relative abundance in the upper and especially in the middle levels, being less common in the lower level.
Chemically, regarding the ratio (Cu+Zn), theisite from Rocabruna is similar to that from Montgaillard (Aude, France). Les Ferreres mine samples show an empirical formula near:
Cu3.97Zn4.02[(OH)9.98|((AsO4)1.58(SbO4)0.42)Σ2]
