Dreislar, North Rhine - Westphalia, Germany
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8 × 7.5 × 4.5 cm
Description

This deposit was first worked in 1870. The deposit was exploited on a large scale in the 1950's and has worked until 2007.

The specimen shown here is excellent for the locality! Large tabular platy flesh-colored,  translucent and lustrous crystals of barite to 2 cm on edge are forming a highly aesthetic cluster on a matrix and minor chalcopyrite.

This is very clean of damage. A very choicely crystallized example for the species and locality! Ref: Lapis 31 (9), 41-43
