Description

Canutite is a brandnew mineral from Chile.

The new mineral canutite (IMA2013-070), NaMn3[AsO4][AsO3(OH)]2 forms beautiful brown to redbrown, lustrous crystals and crystals groups on mansfieldite crystals or on matrix.

It was first described by A.R. Kampf et al. and accepted as a new mineral species in March 2014.

This is a very good and rich specimen hosting several redbroun canutite crystal clusters or single crystals together with pale pink mansfieldite crystals, blue lavendulan crystals and gemmy halite crystals.
