Description

Lustrous bladed crystals to 1 mm of the very rare sulfosalt fülöppite from the type locality.The only find of Fuloppite from this, the type locality, occurred in March 1928. The find consisted of approximantely 120 small pieces that were not offered for sale by the original discoverer. In 1970, his belongings, including the specimens, were sold. (Kipfer, Alexander, “The Zurich Show-1975,” Mineralogical Record, Vol. 7, pg 140.) Some years later this specimen was bought by Armin Wendland. The identity of Fuloppite was confirmed by x-ray diffraction—analysis CR1419_b. Later,
