Description

Nice specimen with large pyrope grains. This is a garnet-peridotite or eclogite from the earth's mantle, containing pyrope, omphacite, forsterite and possibly enstatite, diopside, spinel. Age 420 million years. Formed under high pressure whilst two tectonic plates collided.
