Pyrite Psm Pyrrhotite

Feather Pyrite
Pseudomorph

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Neudorf, Harz, Saxony - Anhalt, Germany
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
9 × 6 × 1 cm
Description

A stunning "winter landscape"-slice of this incredible material, only found here in the Harz Mountains. The feather pyrite is beautifully contrasted by white and brownish calcite-dolomite-matrix. The feather pyrite aggregates look like dead, dry tree branches. Very aesthetic and romantic.

Nothing can be found at he locality anymore and supply is getting short, because the "feather pyrite" is used for jewelry.
