Tenorite & Malachite On Goethite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Wolf Mine, Herdorf, Altenkirchen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.5 × 6.5 × 2.3 cm
Description

This is a very fine specimen with an old label, saying it is tenorite and chrysocolla. Unfortunately there is neither chrysocolla nor tenorite listed for this locality. I am sure the locality is right, but the chrysocolla must be malachite. The tenorite could be possible, as there seem to be tiny black crystals on the kidney-ore-like goethite-matrix. Perhaps a new discovery?
