Description

Extremely beautiful super-bright, apple green adamite crystals aesthetically winding around a limonite "tree". This specimen was collected in 1949 by the famous Californian collector Willard Perkin (inventor of the "perky box") and in 1950 was given as a Christmas present to his German partner, well-known Austrian collector Anton Berger. Both labels are still intact except for the name of Perkin cut off on his label. But you can still see the upper tips of the printed letters of his name on this otherwise handwritten label. If you read Perkin's biography at www.mineralogicalrecord.com/labels.asp?colid=774&page=1 you'll see that it's plausible that Perkin must have found this specimen himself at his very first field trip to Mexico. I'm very proud of being able to offer such a fine specimen of historical value.
