Description

Astonishing smithsonite specimen for this historical locality. Yellowish, botryoidal aggregates - maybe cadmian smithsonite? The antique label indicates, that the specimen was found and registered in the 19th century. This fits the locality named - much later only the 'Kobelsberg' was integrated in the later mines we know today from Wiesloch. Maybe the best smithsonite specimen ever found at the locality - or at least the best I know of.

Would you believe this specimen comes from the collection of an double-agent for Germany and the East German 'Stasi' (short for 'Staatssicherheitsdienst'  the 'Secret Service' of East Germany)? Name withheld by request of the heirs.
