Calomel Native Mercury Azurite & Malachite

ex collection Schlabach
Rare Mineral

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Carolina Mine, Landsberg, Donnersbergkreis, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.5 × 3.3 × 2.5 cm
Description

Good sample with several beige-brown calomel crystals (type locality) and silver-gray mercury (several hollow 'bowls' indicate where mercury drops sat before - so a lot of the mercury seems to have evaporated since 1980 - the year the specimen has been found) with green malachite, blue azurite and black goethite.

All samples from Moschellandsberg are extremely rare - more so type locality material of course.

All Moschellandsberg specimens in this auction are from the Schlabach collection, all found 1980. They have been analyzed, but printouts of the original analysis cannot be provided. If neccessary I can have new analysis made, which the buyer would have to pay.

Unfortunately I don't have the means to do micro-pictures.
