Description

One of Germany's most treasured classic localities is Neudorf. The galena crystals from there are famous for their combinations of cubic, octahedral and dodecahedral faces - the so-called Neudorf habit.

The specimen offered here features several of this unique crystals. For me the most interesting part is the fact, that most of these galena crystals grow as second generation in a hollow cast of siderite after galena (or fluorite?) - a perimorph. This is the first time I encountered something like this.

A little chipping here and there, but that doesn't make this unusual specimen less collectible from my point of view.
