Description

One of the very rare finds of terrestrial native iron. You can find more native iron in meteorites. This is a cut slab from a histrical find in 1917 - together with the also (terrestrial) rare iron carbide cohenite.

According to the original label it also includes troilite. But this is not listed anywhere.

The locality was an ancient quarry, mined until 1925, when it was flooded. Since then it is a swimming pond.
