Description

This is a very old specimen, probably from the early 19th century. The 'Heidelberger Mineralien-Comptoir' was founded in 1804 by the famous mineralogist Karl Cäsar Ritter von Leonhard, later run by others. It was one of the earliest dealerships and ran for 125 years.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was one of the customers, exchanged various letters and traded specimenwith Leonhard and his company.

The specimen is a massive floater of brown pyromorphite crystal sheaves.
