Blue Chalcedony Psm Fluorite

Pseudomorph

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Trestia, Maramureș County, Romania
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8.7 × 5 × 2.5 cm
Description

Very beautiful pseudomorph of blue chalcedony after fluorite. The microcrystaline surface structure gives the specimen a frosted look. The color is very nice - the typical chalcedony blue - but can't be reproduced correctly. Backlit it appears some pale pinkish with warm light, dull grayish with photo 'daylight'.

In nature  much nicer I'd say. The 'rough' surface almost vanishes when viewed without macro lens/magnifying tools.

Little dings at two 'crystals'.
