Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Kreuzeck Group, Carinthia, Austria
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
11 × 8.5 × 8 cm
Largest Crystal:
6.10cm
Description

A very good specimen of brown andalusite crystals in matrix. The largest crystal measures 6.1 cm and is double-terminated (what seems to be a crack is in fact a stepped growth pattern of the crystal). While andalusite basically isn't the most attractive species for collectors you rarely see a good specimen like this. The base is sawn, but this doesn't make it any less attractive.
