Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Bad Bleiberg, Villach-Land District, Carinthia, Austria
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
11 × 8.2 × 5.3 cm
Description

Very interesting specimen. Hundreds of lath-shaped, rather large hemimorphite crystals, partially encrusted with white hydrozincite micro crystals (visual ID). Little of the matrix (gray) can be seen on the front. On the backside you can see tiny black crystals of (possibly) jordisite and a glossy black to copper-brown colored mass (ranciécite? other manganese oxide?). I'm sure an analysis would bring up two or three interesting surprises.
