Pyrargyrite Pyrostilpnite & Polybasite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Fresnillo de Gonzalez Echeverria, Fresnillo Municipality, Zacatecas, Mexico
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4.2 × 3.4 × 2.1 cm
Description

Threre's certainly pyrargyrit on this specimen, little crystals and massive substance (cherry-red fracture faces). Also labeled with 'pyrostilpnite', which is a monoclinic dimorph of pyrargyrite (I'm not so sure about that). However, there are platy, metallic-black crystals in a vug, that look like polybasite to me.
I have no idea about the little brownish crystals.
