Description
Locality:
Sunk, Hohentauern, Niedere Tauern, Styria, Austria
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
14.2 × 10.4 × 2.5 cm
Description

A very interesting 'graphic' secimen - very curious and decorative. Pieces of magnesite naturally 'glued' together by graphite-pigmented dolomite (gray lines).
This so-called 'pinolite' (due to the resemblance of pine seeds) is only found at this locality. A very fine, cut and polished piece, cut off from a nodule (backside naturally rounded).
