Description

This is a really interesting specimen. I first didn't notice this but as I took a closer look I discovered several things on this specimen that make it absolutely unique. First there is the rose quartz: Part of it has grown in several layers like chalcedony/agate. It shows several generations, the first growing in large, skeletal crystals up to 2.7 cm. Those were coverd with tiny second generation crystals, so that I didn't even notice until after shooting the specimen. On the feet of those formed a nice "disco ball" and a lot more of rose quartz crystals, partially covered by white layers of unidentified material (needs professional cleaning). The whole thing is sprinkled with micro-crystals of eosphorite (still don't have the right equipment to photograph those, but I can tell they look nice) and some black, metallic mineral, which I identified as columbite (by comparison - not analysis!). All in all a must-have specimen for the collector of curiosities.
