Description

I'm not sue what we've got here. Exceptional big hessonite crystals up to 1.8 cm have an etched surface. They seem to have been completely covered by calcite or another material, probably a coating of second-generation garnet? Was it etched naturally or did someone not do a good job. I'm curious if somebody has an answer to this. Still the biggest hessonite crystals I have seen so far and an interesting specimen even if I can't tell now what it might be worth. Most of the clinochlore is flattened.
