Description

Botryoidal palladium-bearing nuggets from the Bom Sucesso stream in Minas Gerais, Brazil (type locality for native palladium). A study by Fleet et al. (2002) showed that these nuggets include only very thin laminae in their interior that are dominantly palladium (up to 64%); most of the remainder is palladium-rich platinum, including the exterior lamina (6-33% palladium)--the only visible part of this specimen. Most nuggets have a core of potarite
