Description

Very nice specimen with a single gemmy octahedral colorless diamond crystal, 3 mm in size, on kimberlitic matrix rich in pyrope, ilmenite and other classic mineral species of such rock type.  There are step growth faces on this perfectly gemmy diamond.  Notice the strong yellow fluorescence of this diamond.

This Russian diamond mine is the largest open diamond mine in the World.  Current operations are now only underground.
