Description

Marthozite is a rare copper-uranyl-selenide named after Aime Marthoz (1864-1962) French mineralogist and Belgian General Manager of the Union Minière du Haut-Katanga.

This specimen from the type Locality has greenish yellow flat-lying crystals and aggregates of marthozite on typical uraninite matrix and is associated with some well-formed yellow guilleminite crystals.
