Description

Minute dark blue linarite crystals coating cerrusite in iron oxyhydroxide gossan. The cerrusite crystals are discoloured powder blue presumably from submicroscopic dusting of linarite. The sample is from the level 2 of the Ruakaka vein. The Tui base metal sulfide deposit,  comprised of the Ruakaka and Champion veins was mined from 1967 and 1973 and produced a modest 13,159 t of zinc and 7,755 t of copper concentrate that also contained 2,220 oz gold and 98,000 ounces of silver.
