Description

Large specimen of highly modified, mostly rounded fluorite. One edge has more cubic stepped crystals up to 3cm in size. Although fairly clear and colorless, this specimen has a slight green tinge under darker lighting conditions. The crystals have good transparency and luster. A bit of matrix on the back keeps it from being totally transparent. Patches of white barite cover much of the piece, but did not have room to grow into fully terminated blades. This is a new find for us from the Blue Star Mine, not to be confused with the Blue Star Prospect which is in a different part of the Bishop Cap Mountains. Collected this year.
