Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Mauterndorf Quarry, Mauterndorf, Taurach Valley, Tamsweg District, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
10.8 × 7.5 × 4.4 cm
Description

Unusual matrix specimen from Mauterndorf: bright cyan colored dissolved crystals on a brown lime matrix. The color of the fluorite is most beautiful in daylight and is reminiscent of sky blue. Its faces are etched and skeletonized with good luster. The assembly is very aesthetic with exposed crystals; the contrast with yellow-brown matrix is very nice. An excellent sample on matrix, of which there are only a few pieces. No signifiant damage to report.
