Fluorite & Quartz

Floater

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Dalnegorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Russian Federation
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5.5 × 5 × 3.6 cm
Description

This piece from Dalnegorsk is very difficult to show in the photo: water-clear fluorite cubes with inclusions on a green-gray matrix. The main cube is freely crystallized all around. Even on the matrix, it only grew in small areas on the matrix. The main crystal measures up to 2.3 cm at the edges. Its high-gloss surfaces show a fine square texture. Inside the fluorite there are small gas bubbles and small parts of green chlorite-like inclusions. In addition, there is a slight whitish phantom. More fluorites and small white quartz crystals have grown on the gray-green matrix. An impressive floater specimen - much better than on the photo.
