Description

In my opinion this is the best specimen from this auction and is also the reason for the reserve price. The fluorite comes from Striegau and is really rare and extraordinary due to its size and quality. The fluorite has an intense purple color with darker areas in the center and lighter, transparent corners and edges. Its faces are glossy with a beautiful triangular structure. The fluorite is crystallized as an octahedron, which forms a complete octahedron between two feldspar plates. The crystal measures 9.5 m wide and 12 cm high from tip to tip. The Feldspar plates are also crystallized with Feldspar and occasionally small quartzes of smoke have grown there. The back of the fluorite - here it was hindered in growth - is also finely crystallized and shows highly glossy faces on the sides. No significant damage to report. Truly an impressive showcase piece that is an eye-catcher due to its size, quality and growth!
