Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Weißeck Area, Murwinkel, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.5 × 6 × 3.2 cm
Description

This specimen is from a new cleft from the Weisseck Mountain, which I found in July 2020. The report will follow on my homepage when the work on this cleft is completed. The fluorite shows inwardly curved bowl-shaped faces with a very intense square texture. Due to the bowl shape, the faces always shine when you move the fluorite. This form of crystallization was already found in the fluorites of the Ice-Cleft - just not as intense. The fluorite has a colorless to white zoning on the outside and shows an intense violet zone on the inside, which shows its amazing color with the backlit. First, and fourth photo with lower LED light as backlit, much better in person!
