Description

Another new fluorite from a new find at Weisseck Mountain. Reinhold Bacher found this piece in September 2019. The fluorite shows a very transparent violet color that is very reminiscent of Berbes fluorites. The fluorite shows a colorless center - the purple color comes through a violet zoning along the edges about 2 mm below the surface. And this is very unusual for the Weisseck! Its faces are very well etched with an excellent shine. An intense square structure is difficult to recognize by the etching. The edge length is 3 cm. Some unusual light gray calcites have grown on the fluorite. That's a really nice piece of this new find. This found only produced a fist full of well-developed single crystals, and only a few groups and matrix specimens! There is hardly a new offer due to the small number of good specimen. These photos were taken outdoors in daylight.
