Floater

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Saavedra Province, Potosi Department, Bolivia
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5 × 2.6 × 2.1 cm
Description

This is a very nice specimen with a single bournonite crystal which has grown exposed on thin crystallized pyrite matrix. As you can see on the pictures there are also lenticular transparent golden brown siderite crystals. The combination of the three minerals is very attractive and balanced - the bournonite is partially covered with small pyrites. Well crystallized as undamaged floater specimen - only the bournonite was partly in contact with another crystal.
