Description

This impressive big pink octahedral fluorite from this exciting new find from Inner Mongolia shows interesting play of colors: the fluorite shows a gorgeous translucent pink color with silk-like needles inside the crystal. Many needles are not immediately apparent in person, but at just the right angle they all suddenly light up in attractive fashion. But there are also gray-green areas which are not translucent. Due to the gray-green color, the fluorite is reminiscent of the alpine pink fluorites from Switzerland, which have this gray-green color due to chlorite inclusions. This specimen exhibits finely structured faces with razor-sharp edges up to 5.3 cm. The fluorite measures 7 x 7 x 7 cm from corner to corner. This specimen is a complete floater with no point of attachment, and is complete and in excellent condition all around!
