Description

This is a very interesting Alpine specimen from a find in the greenschist. Matt shining calcite crystals with exposed construction on greenschist matrix. The purple color of the calcite comes from hematite inclusions. Quartz crystals have grown between the calcites - also doubly terminated. Dark chlorites on the matrix emphasize the specimen. The greenschist matrix is also very interesting: it shows a colorful band at the right angles. This makes the Alpine cleft formation very easy to imagine. The bottom is also finely crystallized with small adularia and calcites. Very nice contrast due to the purple calcite and the green matrix!
