Domusnovas, Sardinia, Italy

Cabinet (10-18 cm)

Description

Very interesting fluorite from Sardinia: intergrown fluorite cubes with highly glossy and intensive parqueted faces. The outer layer of approx. 1 mm is water clear with a slightly rosy color. Inside is a lighter pink zonation which gives the fluorite an interesting deep character. In addition - and as a special color contrast - there are small roundish green malachite grown on the fluorite. The fluorite reaches a considerable edge length of up to 1.8 cm. All crystals are undamaged - there is a small old crack in the specimen (almost invisible to the eye), and the specimen is stable. The backside was cut. A very unusual piece with very good gloss and beautiful color!
