Floater

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Weißeck Area, Murwinkel, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
9.2 × 7 × 3.3 cm
Description

This fluorite shows an amazing green-blue translucent color and measures 2.1 cm on the edge. The green color is rarer than blue and violet fluorite from Weisseck. The faces have matt and silky luster with a fine structure. Bright calcite scalenohedra are partially crystallized. They show the growth as scalenohedra and this is typical for the Weisseck - it is considered as identification marks. The backside is also crystalized as matt fluorite. An excellent piece - no significant damage to report. It should be highly ranked as a great rarity with fine quality!
