Description

This piece from the Ice Cleft is also a one-of-a-kind specimen – a true rarity, both for the Ice Cleft and for the Weisseck region in general. To recover this high-quality specimen, I had to work through several meters of ice.

It is an undamaged floater specimen – fully crystallized floaters are extremely rare!

The fluorite displays highly lustrous surfaces with a slightly square texture in the upper section and matte surfaces toward the bottom. The outer layer is clear, but inside, multiple violet zones can be seen along the edges. A pale violet-gray layer provides excellent contrast. The back side is also well crystallized and partially covered with a second generation of light beige fluorite.

This specimen was found in the deepest section of the Ice Cleft (approximately 22 meters from the entrance) in September 2015. A detailed report on this discovery – including videos – can be found on my homepage.

The reserve price for this piece is €650.
