Description

You are bidding on a small sample with a large mass of crystalline native arsenic on yellow rough crystals of diopside, all etched from calcite. On the surface of the arsenic are minute druses of arsenolite crystals and prisms of possible claudetite? A very rich native arsenic sample for Sterling Hill. 

This specimen is from the Steven Phillips collection of Franklin District micromounts and rarities curated by Vandall King, and features specimens from a multitude of well-known collectors of the locality including Alice Kraissl, Russ DeRoo, Dave Cook, Van King and others. Many of these samples may be featured in photos in the upcoming three volume series of books being compiled by Vandall King.
