Description

You are bidding on a small sample with a nice vug of schoonerite fibers with minor mitridatite, jahnsite and one tiny cluster of earlshannonite crystals. I collected this sample in 2000 and traded it to Dan in 2001. This was an extremely rare find at the mine and less than 10 samples were recovered. Comes with two original slides and Dan's index card.

This sample is from the collection of Dan Behnke, long-time friend, micromounter and prodigious photographer. I am pleased to be able to offer selections from his large collection, many of which are illustrated specimens in Rocks & Minerals, The Mineralogiocal Record, Photo Atlas of Minerals and many other publications. All samples from his meticulously catalogued collection will come with his original index card with all notes, photography annotations and other pertinent information, as well as any slides Dan may have taken of the sample with publication notes and date the photo was made.
