Description

You are bidding on a small sample with several vugs hosting golden brown plates of rare lithiophorite crystals with abundants clumps and sprays of bavenite needles, some of which have an overgrowth of hisingerite. All of this has grown on clusters of fluorapatite crystals. Comes with one original slide scanned and shown here. 

This sample is from the collection of Dan Behnke, long-time friend, micromounter and prodigious photographer. I am pleased to be able to offer selections from his large collection, many of which are illustrated specimens in Rocks & Minerals, The Mineralogiocal Record, Photo Atlas of Minerals and many other publications. All samples from his meticulously catalogued collection will come with his original index card with all notes, photography annotations and other pertinent information, as well as any slides Dan may have taken of the sample with publication notes and date the photo was made.
