Description

You are bidding on an exceptional sample with large radial needles of chlorophoenicite on calcite matrix from Franklin, NJ. This sample was once part of Vandall King's competition case of Franklin/SH minerals exhibited at Tuscon and other major shows. The crystals on the larger spray did contact the other side of the cavity, but it does not take away from the importance and rarity of this specimen. Will very likely be illustrated in the upcoming Franklin/SH books being published by Mr. King.

This specimen is from the Steven Phillips collection of Franklin District micromounts and rarities curated by Vandall King, and features specimens from a multitude of well-known collectors of the locality including Alice Kraissl, Russ DeRoo, Dave Cook, Van King and others. Many of these samples may be featured in photos in the upcoming three volume series of books being compiled by Vandall King.
