Description

You are bidding on a small fragment from the original and only find of gerstmannite from the original find of the mineral at Sterling Hill in 1970. Only two larger samples were originally recovered, and not studied until 1975. Any fragment or sample available since that time came from those two original samples, and thus this is part of the paratype. Extremely rare species with very few known examples! From the Steve Phillips collection of Franklin District micromounts and rarities.
