Description

You are bidding on a small sample with three vugs hosting small clusters and sprays of brown prisms of the new mineral jasonsmithite associated with zinc bearing mangangordonite and whiteite-CaMnMn. I collected this material originally in 2009, but due to lack of material, description was not possible. More samples were collected later and the species was recently approved and named in my honor. This is an incredibly rare mineral and only a few good samples exist with unaltered crystals. This is by some distance the best sample I have to offer the public! The crystals are up to about .4mm on this piece, and they are beyond the range of my photo equipment. Comes with signed label!
