Description

You are bidding on a large and very rich sample of libethenite from one of two reported North Carolina localities for the mineral. This sample was collected just a week ago, and subsequently I learned that the locality is now closed to collecting due to a land ownership change. This a very rich and beautiful specimen from the locality, and I got very lucky on my first and last trip there! We were allowed to keep our small finds, but asked to tell other collectors they are no longer welcome. Beautiful small crystals line fractures in ore with blue-green pseudomalachite.
